The Utica Brewers announced today that the team will host the Pitch, Hit and Run competition sponsored by Major League Baseball at North Utica Little League field on May 24.

Registration for participants will begin at 8:00 am, with the competition beginning at 9:00 am.  All participants will receive a free ticket to the Brewers home opener, which takes place on June 7 against the Watertown Rams at Murname Field.

Pitch, Hit & Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball.  This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in an environment that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills.

Boys and Girls are divided into four age groups:7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14 and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major league ballparks and the National Finals at the 2014 MLB All Star Game.

The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each age and gender group at the Local Competition will be awarded and advance to the Sectional level of Competition which will be held in Syracuse on May 31.
