Player of the Week (July 10-July 16)- Austin Clock (Newark)

In the sixth set of weekly awards for the 2014 PGCBL season, Rollie Lacy and Connor Johnstone have been named co-winners of the Pitcher of the Week award while Austin Clock takes home Player of the Week honors.

Rollie Lacy tossed six scoreless innings in his July 10 start against the Utica Brewers as the Adirondack Trail Blazers won 2-0. Lacy allowed four hits and struck out seven Brewer batters. This is his second consecutive week being named pitcher of the Week. The Creighton product is now 3-1 on the season and has a 1.98 ERA.  He has struck out 35 batters in 36.1 innings. Lacy did not appear in a game for the Jayhawks this season.

Connor Johnstone also tossed six scoreless innings in his lone start of the week on July 10. The right-hander threw his against the Watertown Rams and picked up the win in Amsterdam’s 10-0 win. Johnstone allowed just two hits and struck out seven against the Rams. The Wake Forest product is now 3-1 with a 2.97 ERA for the Mohawks. Opponents are hitting just .226 off him. In 13 appearances for Wake Forest this year, Johnstone went 3-2 with an 3.04 ERA. He had eight starts with the remaining five appearances coming in relief.

Austin Clock has been named PGCBL Player of the Week for the week of July 10-July 16 after going 7-for-13 with three RBIs and three runs scored. The Cortland State product is now hitting .341 for coach Mike Armstrong with an on-base percentage of .380. Clock has driven in 12 runs and hit four doubles. In 27 games at Cortland State this year, Clock hit .333 with a .367 OBP and a .481 slugging percentage. He drove in six runs while scoring seven more.
