Dutchmen Lose Lead in Late Innings At CooperstownThe Albany Dutchmen (4-10) were defeated on the road by the Cooperstown Hawkeyes (8-5) on Thursday night, 6-4. The Dutchmen lead through six innings but they lost the lead with three unanswered runs by the Hawkeyes in the seventh and eighth inning. Albany has now seen leads erased in the seventh inning or later in three of their last four games. Brandon Trinkwon of UC Santa Barbara continued his hot streak with two more hits tonight. The speedy Dutchmen leadoff man now has nine hits in his last 16 at-bats. Will Remillard of Temple lead all Dutchmen hitters with two RBIs while both Andrew Deeds (Morehead State) and Anthony Turgeon (Central Connecticut State) had an RBI and run each. Danny Nelson (Cal State Monterey Bay) of Cooperstown highlighted the Hawkeyes late-inning rally with a solo home run in eighth inning. The Hawkeyes strung together five hits in the two innings. Parker Ray (Texas A&M) recorded the win in relief for Cooperstown, while Bret Galihugh (East Tennessee State) was tagged with the loss for Albany.
