Dragons announce bench coachGlens Falls, NY-- Today the Glens Falls Dragons are pleased to annouce their bench coach for the 2015 PGCBL season Coach Geoff Jimenez. Coach Jimenez is a graduate of Flanagan High School, playing for Head Coach Ray Evans and his staff from 2007-2010. He was a 3-year Varsity letterman and capped off his high school career in 2010 with a Florida Class 6A State championship, and as Baseball America’s 2010 National Champions. Jimenez had an outstanding senior season with 42 hits, 38 runs score, 17 RBI and 19 SB and a .438 batting average in 27 games. He was named to the 1st team All-County team by both the Miami Herald and the Sun-Sentinel in 2010. Jimenez was very instrumental in leading the team to a 25-2 record in the 2010 championship season. He was named the team’s Golden Glove award winner multiple times as he did not commit an error while playing the outfield at the Varsity level in 3 years. Coach Jimenez went on to play collegiate baseball at Florida Atlantic University for the next 3 years under Head Coach John McCormack and then transferred to Nova Southeastern University for his senior season to play for Head Coach Greg Brown. While at FAU he was part of 2 Sun Belt conference championships, while being named to the Sunbelt Conference All-Tournament team in 2013. His senior year at Nova Southeastern he led the Sunshine State Conference in stolen bases going 33-36 and really tapped into his potential as a base runner. During his high school and college playing years Coach Jimenez showed a love and passion for the game and always gave 100 percent. He would like to share his love and passion by starting a new chapter in his life as a member of the Falcon coaching staff. Jimenez wants to mentor the young and upcoming Falcons and be able share his knowledge and wisdom he has gained over his playing career. Coach Jimenez also played in 3 collegiate summer baseball leagues. In the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) playing for the Elmira Pioneers, in the Coastal Plains League (CPL) playing for the Wilson Tobs and in the South Florida Collegiate Baseball League playing for the Palm Beach Clippers. Coach Jimenez is currently finishing up his last semester in college at Nova Southeastern and plans to graduate with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science in the spring of 2015. We are very exicted to have Coach Jimenez share his experience with the Glens Falls Dragons players. |
