The Albany Dutchmen (7-12) put everything together on Wednesday against the PGCBL West Division leading Elmira Pioneers (13-9) with an 8-0 road victory in a rain shortened seven-inning game.

The Dutchmen got on the board quick as Dain McNabb (Middle Tenn. St.) clubbed his second homerun of the season to give Albany a 1-0 lead. The Dutchmen bats continued to come alive in the fifth, taking a 4-0 lead as  Paul Bello (Georgetown) drove in two runs with a double. After tacking on four more runs in the sixth inning the Dutchmen raced out to a 8-0 lead, which held for the rest of the rain shortened game.

The Pioneers offense struggled all night against Dutchmen starter Steven Poche (Southeastern Louisiana). Poche looked dominate scattering four hits and no runs in a complete game effort. Joey Boney (Loyola Marymount) continued his surge at the plate for the Dutchmen since joining the team five games ago. After another two hits on Wednesday he is now batting .529 on the season.

The Dutchmen racked up 13 hits throughout the evening. Poche moved to 1-2 on the season while Mat Niedzwiecki (Manchester C.C.) fell to 1-2 for Elimira.
