The Mohawks struck first in the top of the first on a Scott Manea RBI double, scoring Riley Mahan. A Gage West RBI single in the second extended the lead to 2-0 before Saugerties got on the board in the home half of the inning on a Charlie Fina RBI groundout. Aidan McDermott hit a solo home run for Amsterdam in the fourth to make it a 3-1 game. A Craig Dedelow two-RBI single in the fifth plated Tyler Kirkpatrick and Kyle Dean, before Saugerties scored its final run of the game in the bottom of the fifth on a Pat Dorrian RBI single. Brendan Tracy hit an RBI single in the seventh to finish the game’s scoring. Chuck Parslow tossed two and a third scoreless innings of relief to get the win for Amsterdam while Nick Williams allowed the first five Mohawks runs to take the loss for Saugerties. The previous PGCBL wins record was set by the Mohawks last year. Albany 19 Glens Falls 4: The Albany Dutchmen scored a combined 15 runs in the fifth and seventh innings to lead them to a 19-4 win over the Glens Falls Dragons at Bob Bellizzi Field. The Dutchmen scored the first two runs of the game in the bottom of the third on a Zach Remillard RBI double and a Michael Fitzsimmons RBI single. Another Albany run came around to score in the fourth on a Tom Moore RBI single. Then in the fifth, Adam Gauthier hit an RBI single, Michael Bollmer hit a two-RBI triple and Grayson Lewis hit a two-RBI double. Glens Falls scored three of its four runs in the top of the sixth on a Richard Gugliemi RBI single, a Danny Oliveri RBI single and an RBI groundout. Albany got one of the runs back in the home half of the inning on a Bollmer sacrifice fly. The final Dragons run of the game came in the top of the seventh on a Donovan Christman RBI triple. The Dutchmen promptly responded with nine runs. The nine runs came around to score on a bases loaded walk, a sacrifice fly, an RBI fielder’s choice, a Bollmer RBI single, a Hunter Boose RBI single, a bases loaded hit by pitch, a Lewis two-RBI single and another sacrifice fly. Brandon Nylin allowed three runs in five innings of work while registering seven strikeouts to get the win for the Dutchmen and Jake Welch came on with a three run lead and finished the game to preserve the save. Matthew Sturchio gave up the first seven Albany runs to take the loss for Glens Falls. With the win, Albany now leads Glens Falls by a game and a half in the East Division standings. Tonight’s Games: Utica at Victor (DH) 3 p.m.: Trailing the Newark Pilots by a half-game for the third spot in the West Division playoffs, the Utica Brewers will look to gain some ground as they take on the Victor RailRiders for a doubleheader. Adirondack at Mohawk Valley (DH) 5 p.m.: Not yet eliminated from postseason contention, the Adirondack Trail Blazers will take on the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs in Little Falls as they look to gain ground on both Utica and Newark. Albany at Amsterdam 6:35 p.m.: Coming off a big win against Glens Falls as they now lead the hunt for the third East playoff spot by a game and a half, the Albany Dutchmen will make their final trip to Shuttleworth Park this regular season. Saugerties at Glens Falls 7 p.m.: With three games left on their schedule and trailing the Albany Dutchmen by a game and a half for the final East playoff spot, the Glens Falls Dragons play a big game at East Field on Tuesday against Saugerties. Elmira at Newark 7:05 p.m.: The Newark Pilots will host West Division rival Elmira for the final time this regular season as they take on the Pioneers at Colburn Park.
