Elmira Defeats Adirondack 7-6The Pioneers would be yet again victorious at home in walk off fashion. In a game of defensive miscues and key hits, Phil Madonna would lead the Pioneers to victory. He knocked in four runs and had three hits in five at bats in the victory including the walk off single. The relief pitching was dominant in the late innings as Marc Galvan and Parker Caracci would throw a scoreless seventh, eighth and ninth inning to keep the game within reach at 6-5. Back to back singles by Ty Denzer and Rob Perteet would put runners at first and second. Sacrifice bunt by Brian Kelly would move the runners over to second and third. Adirondack Pitcher Pat Geraghty intentionally walked Jason Patnick to load the bases. A Joe Preziuso Sac Fly would bring in a run and move Perteet 90 feet from the game winning score. Phil Madonna would come up to the plate and knock one over to right field to bring the games final score 7-6. The Elmira Pioneers play against the Victor Railriders tomorrow at Victor.
