League Leaders Batting Average: Alex Thrower, Saugerties (.414) Home Runs: Joe Genord, Amsterdam (4) RBIs: Ben Brookover, Jamestown (25) Stolen Bases: JJ Shimko, Albany (14) Wins: Three tied at 4 ERA: Austin Keen, Amsterdam (0.37) Strikeouts: Two tied at 33 Innings Pitched: Brennen Smith, Victor (35) Saves: Two tied at 5 Streak Leaders Longest Winning Streak (Active): Amsterdam (4) Best record in last 10 games: Utica (9-1) Longest Losing Streak (Active): Two tied at 5 Last Night’s Games: Oneonta 20 Adirondack 8 Led by an eight-run fifth inning, the Oneonta Outlaws beat the Adirondack Trail Blazers, 20-8, in Boonville. In the fifth, an error, a bases loaded walk, a Quin Cotton two-run single, a Carter Austin RBI single, a Jimmy Hand RBI single and an error accounted for the eight runs. The Outlaws also scored six runs in the seventh inning, highlighted by a John Hennen two-run single. Despite the 28 combined runs, no home runs were hit in the game. The Outlaws had three players accumulate four RBIs and six had multiple hits. Tyler Brown picked up the win and Aaron Hedgecock took the loss. Amsterdam 9 Albany 1 The Amsterdam Mohawks scored early and often, beating the Albany Dutchmen, 9-1, in the Capital City. Joe Genord drove in two runs with a double in the first inning and Tyler Frank added a two-RBI double in the second to make it a 4-0 game. Tyler Ungerland hit an RBI single and Genord hit another two-run double in the fourth to extend the lead to 7-0. Albany got a run back in the fifth before the Mohawks plated two in the eighth to conclude the scoring. Cameron Enck allowed just the one run in six innings of work to earn the win as Jared Gold took the loss for Albany. Elmira 5 Newark 4 The Elmira Pioneers rallied in the tenth to beat the Newark Pilots, 5-4, at Colburn Park. Rob Perteet broke a 4-4 tie with an RBI single in the top of the tenth to give the Pioneers the win. Elmira had scored all four of its runs in the first inning on a Tyler Plantier RBI single, a Brian Kelly two-run single and a Phil Madonna RBI single. Newark scored two runs in the fourth before tying it in the sixth on a Chris Sharpe RBI single. Parker Caracci struck out four in two innings of scoreless relief to earn the win for Elmira as Brian Dolan took the loss for Newark. Victor 8 Geneva 0 The Victor RailRiders broke an eight-game losing streak with an 8-0 win over the Geneva Red Wings on the road. The RailRiders got out to a 1-0 lead in the second on an error and scored two more in the third, including one on a Nathan Koslowski RBI double. A Koslowski RBI single extended the lead to 4-0 in the fifth before the visitors scored four in the eighth to finish the scoring. In the eighth, Jack Zagaja and Aaron Endres hit back-to-back home runs, Koslowski hit an RBI double and a groundout scored a run. Brennen Smith struck out six over seven scoreless innings, allowing just two hits, in picking up the win. Alec Jordan gave up the first four Victor runs in taking the loss. Glens Falls 11 Saugerties 4 The Glens Falls Dragons scored nine runs in the late innings to beat the Saugerties Stallions, 11-4, at East Field. Mohawk Valley 4 Utica 0 Three pitchers combined on a shutout as the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs snapped a nine-game Utica winning streak with a 4-0 win on the road. Joe DeSarro struck out five over seven scoreless innings, ultimately earning the win. Jonathan McKinney tossed a scoreless inning of relief and Nick Plancho notched the save for the DiamondDawgs. Mohawk Valley scored the first two runs of the game on a hit by pitch and a fielder’s choice in the sixth. An error and a bases loaded walk plated two more in the seventh for what turned out to be the rest of the game’s scoring. Michael Hope gave up the first two DiamondDawg runs in taking the loss for Utica.
