Amsterdam 7 Adirondack 0
The Amsterdam Mohawks scored seven late runs to go on and beat the Adirondack Trail Blazers, 7-0, in Boonville.
Scoreless until the sixth, an error and a sacrifice fly made it 4-0 Amsterdam. A balk and another error extended the lead to 6-0 in the seventh before an insurance run scored in the ninth to seal the win for the visitors.
Griffin Roberts tossed five scoreless innings in earning the win for Amsterdam as three pitchers combined on a five-hit shutout. Dylan Borawski took the loss for Adirondack.
Glens Falls 5 Albany 2
A four-run sixth inning led the Glens Falls Dragons to a 5-2 win over the Albany Dutchmen at East Field.
After Albany took a 2-0 lead in the fourth on a Bray Curreri two-run single, the Dragons took the lead for good with a four-run sixth. Chris Kwitzer, who later homered, scored on an error and Hunter Szaflarski hit a three-run triple.
Bryan Warzek allowed the two runs over seven innings of work to earn the win as John Bednarek notched the save. Evan Giles took the loss for Albany.
Elmira 10 Newark 4
Highlighted by a six-run sixth inning, the Elmira Pioneers won their 20th game of the season with a 10-4 victory over the visiting Newark Pilots.
Newark started the scoring in the fourth on an error before a groundout and an error made it 3-1 Elmira after four. Jon Schafer hit a two-run double in the sixth to tie the game at three before the Pioneers scored six runs in the sixth on a wild pitch, a Zeke Lewis RBI single, a fielder’s choice, a Rob Perteet two-run single and a Tyler Plantier RBI single. Elmira added a run in the eighth and Newark rallied for a run in the ninth but it was too little too late.
Andrew Sipowicz struck out seven over six innings of three-run ball to earn the win as Solomon Bates took the loss.
Victor 10 Geneva 4
The Victor RailRiders scored five runs in the first two innings to lead them to a 10-4 win over the Geneva Red Wings, 10-4, at home.
The RailRiders scored two runs in the first on a groundout and an error before three runs scored in the second on a Chris Lehane RBI single, a fielder’s choice and another error. Ivan Wortman hit an RBI double in the second to give the Red Wings their first run. Victor scored two more runs in the fourth before Max Goione hit an RBI single in the fifth for Geneva. The Red Wings plated a lone run in the sixth before the RailRiders scored two more on a Nick Russo single. Each team scored a lone run in the seventh to conclude the scoring.
Luke Tomczyk struck out eight over 5.2 innings to earn the win for Victor as Tom Sutera took the loss.
Mohawk Valley 6 Utica 3
The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs went into Utica on Wednesday and picked up a win against the first place Utica Blue Sox.
The Blue Sox took a 2-0 lead in the third on an Anthony Young RBI single and a sacrifice fly. The DiamondDawgs rallied for three runs in the next half inning, though, as Sean Mazzio hit a two-run double and Tanner Leenknecht hit an RBI single. Lone runs in the sixth, seventh and eighth extended the lead as Mohawk Valley was able to hold on for the win.
Chris Henry tossed a scoreless inning of relief to get the win as Zachary Vennaro notched the save. Kevin Woebke took the loss.
Oneonta 7 Saugerties 6
In took 10 innings but the Oneonta Outlaws came out on top, beating the Saugerties Stallions, 7-6, at home.
The Outlaws led 6-3 heading into the ninth inning but Saugerties rallied for three runs to tie the game. In the bottom of the tenth, however, Oneonta walked off to pick up its 17th win of the season. The Outlaws had scored four runs in the fourth inning to take the lead. Derek Kasperzyk drove in three runs for the home team.
Antonio Baglivo tossed an inning and a third of scoreless relief in earning the win as Nick Burns took the loss for Saugerties.
