Elmira Falls in AmsterdamElmira traveled to Amsterdam last night to take on the Mohawks. The Mohawks after two home runs would jump out to a 4-0 lead in the third inning. Kody Ortman would give the Mohawks a 5-0 lead with a third homerun of the night. Amsterdam would tack on two more runs in the inning. The Pioneers would load the bases up in the fifth inning after Ty Yesensky drew a four-pitch walk. BJ Willis would plate the Pioneers first run of the game after being hit by Jack Fischer pitch. Amsterdam would seal their victory by scoring two more runs on the night giving them the 9-1 win over the Pioneers. Elmira’s Ty Yesensky finished the night 3-3 from the dish. Elmira will return to Dunn Field on Thursday July 21st as they take on the Albany Dutchmen for a scheduled 7:05 PM first pitch. It’s Thirsty Thursday where fans can enjoy $1 beverages throughout the night as all beer and soda will be on sale. The Pioneers continue the action Friday where fans can get into the game for free. Friday is also Fantastic Friday with chances to win “Lucky Fan” giveaways. The Pioneers will also be home on Saturday July 23rd for Faith and Family night with a post-game concert featuring the band “New Method”. This Summer Have Even More Fun at The Dunn! Dugout Chatter: Pioneers very own Zac Bellinger who has played in eight games for Elmira hitting .308 with a home run and three RBIs in 26 at-bats was named New York Sports Writers Association Class C Player of the Year. |
