PGCBL Daily Roundup: June 7, 2018![]() The first week of PGCBL action comes to a close on Thursday night, as ten teams in the league do battle across five ballparks. Wednesday's Results Thursday's Scheduled Games Glens Falls Dragons at Albany Dutchmen The final undefeated team in the PGCBL returns home to Siena College for their second meeting of the season with the Glens Falls Dragons. Thursday's game features the top two teams in the East Division- the 3-0 Dutchmen and the 3-2 Dragons, who defeated Amsterdam at home last night.The Dutchmen claimed the first meeting between the teams, 9-6, at East Field in Glens Falls on Tuesday. Adirondack Trail Blazers at Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs The scorching hot Mohawk Valley offense returns to Little Falls for the first time in nearly a week for their third matchup this year against the Adirondack Trail Blazers. Mohawk Valley, who is riding a four game winning streak, scored 20 runs in a doubleheader sweep of the Trail Blazers on Tuesday, and are averaging over eight runs per game in five contests this season. Newark Pilots at Watertown Rapids Watertown snapped a brief two game losing streak on Wednesday night to get back above .500, and return home to play the 0-3 Newark Pilots. Newark's three losses thus far have been by a combined five runs. The Pilots and Rapids are scheduled to play three times this season, with two games coming at the Fairgrounds in Watertown. The lone return trip is scheduled for July 9 at Colburn Park. Oneonta Outlaws at Saugerties Stallions For the second time this season, the Oneonta Outlaws and Saugerties Stallions will meet up, with Thursday marking the first game of the series at Cantine Field. The Outlaws picked up their first win of the season in the game between these two teams on Monday, getting a walk-off single from Parker Hendershot to claim a 5-4 win. Utica Blue Sox at Jamestown Jammers The first place Jamestown Jammers welcome the 3-2 Utica Blue Sox to Diethrick Park in a game that matches up two of the seven teams that are currently above .500 in the PGCBL. The Jammers and Blue Sox are only scheduled to play twice this season, with the Jammers' sole trip to Utica set for July 15. |
