As the PGCBL enters its second full week of play, eight of the league's 13 teams will be in action, including a morning tilt between rivals in the PGCBL West.
Monday's Scheduled Games
Newark Pilots at Jamestown Jammers
The hottest team in the PGCBL hosts the first game of the day on Monday, as the Newark Pilots arrive at Diethrick Park. The Jammers have won six straight games, while the Pilots have lost two in a row since their first win of the season. The first meeting of the season between the teams saw the Jammers claim a 5-3 victory in Newark. Including Monday's game, the West Division rivals are scheduled to play nine more times during the 2018 PGCBL regular season.
Elmira Pioneers at Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs
One of only two meetings this season between the Pioneers and DiamondDawgs is slated for Little Falls on Monday night. A walkoff loss to Albany on Sunday dropped the Dawgs to 5-3 on the season, while the Pioneers sit at 3-5. With Watertown in action tonight as well, the DiamondDawgs could move back into a share of first place with a win and a loss by the Rapids. Mohawk Valley's return trip to Elmira is scheduled for July 27, in the final days of the regular season.
Oneonta Outlaws at Saugerties Stallions
A pair of East Division foes will look to shake the divisional standings at Cantine Field on Monday night. Oneonta has gotten off to a solid 4-3 start this season, while the Stallions have won back-to-back divisional games against Glens Falls and Amsterdam. Oneonta holds a 2-0 series lead over the Stallions, with victories on June 4 (5-4) and June 7 (4-1). The game is the third of a scheduled nine between the rivals.
Geneva Red Wings at Watertown Rapids
Two of the league's better teams through ten days will meet up at the Duffy Fairgrounds in Watertown, as the Central Division leading Watertown Rapids welcome the 5-3 Geneva Red Wings. Watertown comes in on a four game winning streak, while Geneva moved to 5-3 with a win over Elmira on Sunday. Monday's game, the first of five between the teams this season, is also the first game of a two-day home and home series, with the matchup shifting to McDonough Park on Tuesday.
