Throughout the season, the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League will be recognizing a Player and Pitcher of the Night on each game day.

Player of the Night: Richie Barrella, Amsterdam (Manhattan)

Barrella sparked Amsterdam's lineup to an 8-6 road victory over the Jamestown Jammers, which accounted for the first Mohawk road win and first Jammer home loss of the season. Hitting in the leadoff spot, Barrella recorded four hits and scored a run. His efforts included a single and a run scored in the top of the eighth inning, when the Mohawks scored four runs to take the lead for good. Barrella has hit safely in each of his six games since arriving in Amsterdam on June 5, including three multi-hit performances.

Pitcher of the Night: Ryan Smith, Saugerties (Boston College)

Smith entered Wednesday night's game with the Elmira Pioneers in the bottom of the sixth inning, and came in with the Stallions trailing 4-3. The BC Eagle proceeded to strike out three of the five hitters he faced, and pick up the win for the Stallions. He retired all five batters that came to the plate against him, and handed the ball to two other relievers in the final two innings. Smith has struck out eight hitters in his 5.2 innings on the mound this season, and has not allowed a hit in his last two appearances.
