Throughout the season, the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League will be recognizing a Player and Pitcher of the Night on each game day.

Player of the Night: John Polichetti, Adirondack (UMass Lowell)

The Adirondack Trail Blazers roared to life with 16 runs on Wednesday night, dealing the Watertown Rapids their fourth loss of the season. Polichetti was a big part of the effort for the Trail Blazers, going 3-for-3 with four runs scored and four runs batted in. The third baseman belted two home runs in the win, hitting a solo shot in the third inning and a two-run homer in the fourth. He also added a sacrifice fly in the first inning to account for a quarter of Adirondack's runs on the day. Polichetti entered the night with just one hit on the season, and had driven in one run, as well as earning one win on the mound.

Pitcher of the Night: Gregory Allard, Saugerties (Stony Brook)

Allard, an Averill Park, New York native, shut down the red hot bats of the Amsterdam Mohawks on Wednesday night, leading the Stallions to a 1-0 home victory. The Stony Brook product tossed six shutout innings, and allowed only three hits and three walks. Allard did not allow an extra base hit to the Mohawks, who managed just four hits on the night. The victory was Allard's first of the season, and lowered his season ERA to 1.89. Allard has allowed just 12 hits in his 19 innings on the mound, and the Stallions have won in each of his past two starts.
