Throughout the season, the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League will be recognizing a Player and Pitcher of the Night on each game day.

Player of the Night: Julio Mercano, Adirondack (NJIT)

The Adirondack second baseman keyed the Trail Blazers' 5-4 home victory over the Geneva Red Wings. Hitting in the third spot, Mercano went 3-for-4, and drove in a pair of runs. Mercano drove in his two runs on a double in the third inning, which gave Adirondack a 3-0 lead. He also added two singles in the victory over Geneva. Following his three-hit performance, Mercano has extended his hit streak to ten games, and his on base streak to 15 games. On the season, the NJIT Highlander is hitting an even .400, and has recorded 28 hits and scored eleven runs.

Pitcher of the Night: Tom Kretzler, Oneonta (Brockport)

Tom Kretzler shut down a potent Amsterdam offense on Tuesday night, keeping the host Mohawks off the board through his seven innings on the mound. The Brockport righthander scatted two hits and six walks over his outing, but never allowed any of those baserunners to cross the plate. He struck out three Amsterdam hitters, and was backed up with a 9-1 victory at Shuttleworth Park. The win was his first of the season, and also served as his first appearance of longer than four innings. Kretzler holds a 3.44 ERA on the season for the Outlaws.
