During each week of the 2018 PGCBL season, the league office will recognize one position player and one pitcher as the League's Player and Pitcher of the Week. This week, players from two first place teams earn the honors.

The Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League is pleased to announce the selection of Jamestown's Chase Keng (UTSA) as the PGCBL Player of the Week, and Amsterdam's Blake Espinal (Seton Hall) as the league Pitcher of the Week.

Keng produced a monster week for the Jammers, leading Jamestown to four victories and keeping the best record in the PGCBL intact. The lefthanded hitting outfielder recorded seven extra base hits, getting at least one in every game. He also scored a run in every game, crossing home eight times on the week. Keng finished his week with back-to-back three hit efforts in victories over Newark and Albany. He hit three triples over the two day stretch, going 6-for-8 at the plate.

During his freshman season at UTSA, Keng appeared in 40 games, and made 27 starts for the Roadrunners. The Deer Park, Texas native drove in twelve runs and scored 15, hitting .250 for UTSA. This summer with the Jammers, Keng has driven in 17 runs with 18 runs scored, and boasts a .299 batting average.

Espinal proved to be dominant in two relief appearances for the Mohawks, earning the victory in consecutive outings against the Glens Falls Dragons and the Oneonta Outlaws. In five total innings, the lefthander allowed just one of the 16 batters he faced to reach base, striking out seven. The Seton Hall product worked two scoreless innings against Glens Falls on Thursday, and followed it up with three perfect innings against Oneonta on Sunday, which earned him PGCBL Pitcher of the Night honors.

At Seton Hall, Espinal made 16 relief apperances, recording a 3-0 record and a 2.08 ERA in 21.1 innings of work. The native of the Bronx, who is a former Big East Academic All-Star, held opposing hitters to a .171 batting average, and worked a pair of scoreless innings in the Big East Tournament. In Amsterdam, Espinal has posted a 2.63 ERA with a 2-0 record, and has struck out 14 hitters in 13.2 innings.

The PGCBL is pleased to recognize the accomplishments of Keng and Espinal over the last seven days. The league will continue to honor the best performances in the PGCBL throughout the summer with both nightly and weekly awards.
