During the postseason, the PGCBL is recognizing one player from each series as its Most Outstanding Player.
PGCBL Semifinals Most Outstanding Player: Shane Muntz, Amsterdam (Wake Forest)
In Amsterdam's two game sweep of the Watertown Rapids, Shane Muntz drove in seven runs. The entire roster of the Rapids scored just two more. In Game 1, Muntz belted a fifth inning grand slam that proved to be the difference in the contest, increasing the Mohawk lead from 2-0 to 6-0. He also was Amsterdam's starting pitcher, tossing seven innings of shutout ball with seven strikeouts and only one hit allowed. On the road in Game 2, the designated hitter went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, reaching base four times. In the postseason, Muntz has reached base nine times in three games, good for a .600 on base percentage.
A Most Outstanding Player award for the Jamestown-Geneva series will be awarded on Saturday, following Game 3 in that series.
