Saugerties Rolls to 14-0 VictorySaugerties, N.Y. - The Saugerties Stallions beat the Oneonta Outlaws in a dominant 14-0 Sunday night. The bats were rolling for Saugerties as ten different Stallions reached base, totaling fourteen hits. Virginia Tech signee Fritz Genther, Georgia Southern first baseman Noah Ledford, and Louisiana State catcher Hayden Travinski all hit homeruns for the Stallions. The Stallions are topping the PGCBL leaderboards as St. Bonaventure outfielder, after tonight’s game, Tyler Kelder now is tied for the lead in batting average (.455). Additionally, catcher Hayden Travinski, after knocking one out of the park in tonight’s game, is now tied for second in homeruns with two. He also is tied for third in RBI’s with six. Arizona Western pitcher Austin Cole had an impressive outing for the Stallions as he pitched six innings, with no runs and six strikeouts. Henry Funaro picked off right where Cole left off keeping the Outlaws off the board with five strikeouts. It was a rough day for Outlaw starting pitcher Dave Yanowski. The Canisus College ace gave up seven runs on eight hits through 4.2 innings pitched. The other Outlaw pitchers struggled to keep the Stallions off the board as the other two pitchers to replace Yanowski gave up a combined five runs. The bats were extremely quiet for the Outlaws as they only amounted to four hits and zero runs. Marist College shortstop Mike Cassalegio lead the Outlaws with two hits. The Stallions have now won four of their last five games. The Stallions, staring on Tuesday, play seven straight games. Their week-long stretch of games starts on the road verse Glens Falls in hopes to remain above .500 on the season. |
