LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. - The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs welcomed Cooperstown Hawkeyes to Veteran’s Memorial Park for its Perfect Game Collegiate League (PGCBL) contest on Friday night.  The Hawkeyes limped into Vet’s Park riding a seven game losing streak while the DiamondDawgs were looking to snap its two game slide.  The DiamondDawgs bat came alive as they scored eight runs on 15 hits and snapped its two game losing skid with an 8-1 victory.

In the top of the third Long worked out of a jam as Stefan Jordan (North Carolina A&T) reached on a single and Emilio Alonso (Black Hawk) walked but both runners were stranded on the bases.

The DiamondDawgs struck again in the bottom of the third when Herrington and Landon Thibodeaux (LSU Eunice) and Rodrigue singled scoring Herrington and giving Mohawk Valley a 4-0 advantage.

The Hawkeyes got on the board in the top of the fourth when Austin March (UC Davis) singled and stole a base and Ryan Donovan (Hofstra) reached on an overthrow to first base and the Dawg lead was cut to 4-1.

The DiamondDawgs responded with two more in the fifth when Thibodeaux singled and stole a base and Rodrigue doubled to make it 5-1 and then a single by Joey Tracy (UAlbany) gave the home team a 6-1 advantage.

Cooperstown was able to load the bases in the top of the sixth but Tyler Bray (ULM) was able to work out of the inning unscathed.

The Dawgs added two more runs in bottom of the seventh as Jordan Friend (Alabama A&M) singled and stole a base and Rodrigue singled and Joey Tracy (UAlbany) doubled to take a 7-1 lead and a David Peretti (Union) single gave the DiamondDawgs their final run and a 8-1 win.
