CHICAGO -- UIC baseball player Jeff Boehm has been named the Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball News and was also selected as the Horizon League Batter of the Week after belting six home runs in four games last week. Boehm's jaw-dropping stat line also included 12 RBI, 12 runs, 33 total bases and a slugging percentage of 2.063. This is the second occurrence this season where Boehm has earned both awards.

On May 12, Boehm was also selected as the National Player of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).

The senior slugger guided UIC to four straight wins last week, commencing with a dominating 7-0 victory on Tuesday at home against Big Ten-member Michigan. Boehm went 3-for-4 with a homer and a triple, but fell one double shy of hitting for the cycle.

Over the weekend, Boehm and the Flames swept Horizon League-foe Oakland in a road series in Rochester, Mich. The left fielder recorded two dingers, four RBI and hit 4-for-5 from the plate in game one and then belted two more moonshots in game two. In the series finale, Boehm went 2-for-3 with his final long ball of the week.

During the trio of games at Oakland, Boehm went 8-for-12 from the dish with five homers, 10 RBI, nine runs, two doubles and 25 total bases.

Boehm now owns 13 homers on the year which puts him tied-for-third on UIC's all-time single-season leaderboard. His 58 RBI ranks him eighth on the Flames' single-season list. The Lansing, Ill. native has 20 career dingers with the Flames in just two seasons, tying him for ninth on UIC's all-time top-10 list.

The Flames return to action this weekend at home in their final series of the 2015 regular season against Youngstown State. UIC sits atop the Horizon League standings with a record of 19-8.
