Here’s a look back at the scores from around the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) on Monday, June 12:

Saugerties (4-4) 5, Amsterdam (5-2) 3
The big bat of Saugerties’ Mark McKenna (Army West Point) helped guide the Stallions back from a late deficit and beat the East Division-leading Mohawks in extra innings on Monday night. After Amsterdam tallied thrice in the fifth inning, the Stallions scored once in the eighth and twice in the ninth to even the score at 3-all. Down by two in the ninth, McKenna led off with a solo home run while Nick Campana (Hartford) doubled and scored to make it a 3-3 game. Amsterdam’s Eric Riveria (Florida Atlantic) gave the Mohawks a chance to walk off with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, as he tripled but was stranded in scoring position after a strikeout ended the frame. McKenna went yard again in the 10th, a two-run shot that proved to be the game winner.

Geneva (7-2) 18, Adirondack (4-5) 6
Speaking of home runs, the Red Wings belted five of them en route to a 18-6 blowout of the Trail Blazers in Boonville, N.Y. Trustin Riley (Tampa) and Jake Evans (Alabama Southern C.C.) each hit one long ball, while Mikey Arman (Kenyon) nearly tied the PGCBL single-game record for homers in a game. Arman finished his monster outing a perfect 4-for-4 with three home runs – one shy of the league record of four, set by 2011 Watertown Wizard Erick Gaylord (Campbell) back on July 16, 2011 – to go along with six RBIs and three runs scored. Arman slugged two of his homers in Geneva’s 10-run fifth inning, which gave the Red Wings a 14-0 lead through four-and-a-half innings. Riley capped of his night with a 3-for-4 showing at the dish, four RBIs and five runs, while Joseph Tassin (Bossier Parish C.C.) and Justin Barr (Central Alabama C.C.) each posted three hits.

Oneonta (1-7) 7, Mohawk Valley (5-3) 1
The Outlaws finally snapped the season-opening losing streak and picked up win No. 1 over the DiamondDawgs at Damaschke Field. The pitching staff, led by starter Nathan Wrighter (Bryant), limited Mohawk Valley to just one run on four hits. Wrighter earned the win, after allowing the lone run on three hits and a game-high seven strikeouts. With the game tied at 1-1 after two innings, Oneonta scored once in the fifth and sixth innings, and the Outlaws padded their lead with a four-spot in the seventh. Aron Fried (Quinnipiac) highlighted Oneonta’s seventh-inning offensive outburst with a two-run, two-out triple. Chris Tracz (Marist) also hit a triple for the Outlaws and finished 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
