Friday's Scheduled Games
Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs at Utica Blue Sox
One of only two games on the schedule between teams in the same division, the second and third place teams in the Central Division will meet up at Murnane Field. The Blue Sox moved a game closer to the Diamond Dawgs in the standings on Thursday night with a 7-4 victory at Veterans' Memorial Park. Friday's game marks the third meeting of the season between the Blue Sox and the DiamondDawgs, with the road team winning each of the first two matchups.
Adirondack Trail Blazers at Jamestown Jammers
The team with the best record in the PGCBL welcomes Adirondack to Diethrick Park for the first of two meeting this season between the teams. The game marks the end of a four game home stand for the Jammers, which has seen them go 2-1. Adirondack's Jack Wallace (Franklin Pierce) will make his first start of the season, while the host Jammers will counter with David Lyskawa (UMBC).
Oneonta Outlaws at Watertown Rapids
The hottest team in the PGCBL returns to the Fairgrounds riding a six game winning streak and 1.5 game lead in the Central Division. Oneonta is making their only trip of the season to Watertown, with the Rapids returning the favor on July 25 at Damaschke Field. Watertown will give the ball to Nick Cowen (Wayne State), and Oneonta, who sits in fourth place in the PGCBL East Division will look to stop the Rapids' winning streak behind righthander Logan Moody (Georgia).
Albany Dutchmen at Saugerties Stallions
Following a loss to the Amsterdam Mohawks on Thursday, Albany is looking to keep their spot as the top team in the PGCBL East. The Dutchmen won the first of the nine game season series with the Stallions on June 5, rallying for a 9-6 victory at Cantine Field. Dutchmen head coach Nick Davey will send Greg Marino (Stony Brook) to the hill for this second start. He will be matched up with Saugerties righthander Noah Stone (Arkansas State).
Amsterdam Mohawks at Elmira Pioneers
Two days after playing in Jamestown, the Amsterdam Mohawks head back west for a meeting with the Elmira Pioneers. The cross-divisional matchup will be played twice this season, as the Pioneers will make the trip east to Shuttleworth Park on July 24. One of the league's most dominant starters to this point, Peyton Plumlee (Mississippi State), will get the start for the Mohawks at Dunn Field.
Glens Falls Dragons at Newark Pilots
The Glens Falls Dragons enter Friday with a chance to take over first place in the PGCBL East, needing a win and an Albany loss against Saugerties. Friday marks the first of two games this season between the Dragons and the Pilots. Newark will head to Glens Falls' East Field on June 27 for the final game of the season series.The Dragons are starting Anthony Ethington (Bellarmine), who is looking to run his season record to 3-0, at Colburn Park.
