Mohawks defeat Dutchmen 11-10

Amsterdam, NY- Mohawks win to Dutchmen in extra innings 11-10

The Amsterdam Mohawks took down the Dutchmen in 11 innings by a score of 11-10 in Amsterdam on Tuesday night.  Brendan Disonell gets the pitching win for the Mohawks and Michael DiMartino is hit with the loss for the Mohawks. 

The Mohawks took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first thanks to second baseman Bryce Eblin with a steal to home and shortstop Robbie Artimage hiting a RBI single to left field, and allowing Brett Coker to round third to homeplate.  Then in the bottom of the second  on a wild pitch extra hitter Jack Reinisch steals homeplate.  Right after that, on a caught pop fly from left fielder Matt Shaw, Kieth Jones the designated hitter tags up on third to run home to make the score 4-0. 
Bottom of the third Phinny hits an RBI single sending right fielder CJ Funk home to make the score 5-0 for the Mohawks. 

The Albany Dutchmen starts to get the momentum to come back in the Top of the fourth as third basemen Logan Beard hits an RBI double sending catcher, Adam Zebrowski home to make the score 5-1. The Dutchmen then get the chance and score two more runs to end the Top of the fourth.  Then in the bottom of the fifth Matt Shaw hits a two home runner sending him and third basemen Brett Coker to make the score 7-3.  Kieth Jones then continuing the momentum with the bases loaded drives CJ Funk home with an RBI single. 

The Dutchmen keeping the Mohawks at eight runs are able to gain 8 runs over the remaining innings tieing the Mohawks and sending the game into extra innings.  In the tenth inning both the Mohawks and the Dutchmen score a run creating a 9-9 tie leading the game to go into the eleventh inning of the game. 

Leading into the bottom of the eleventh the Dutchmen lead by one run.  With bases loaded for the mohawks first basemen Kai Roberts, the walk-off hero, drives the left fielder Matt Shaw home to score the winning run. 

The Mohawks travel to Utica to face the Blue Sox tomorrow night at Murnane Field.
