Dragons Add Five Players From MAAC

f you are a fan of the MAAC, East Field and  the Glens Falls Dragons will be the place for you to be this summer. The Dragons have announced that the 2016 roster will feature players from Siena, Rider and Canisius of the MAAC. These Division I additions should benefit the Glens Falls team in PGCBL play this summer.

The Dragons will have three players from nearby Siena this season. Outfielders Alex Tuccio and Daniel Lowndes, along with pitcher Justin Scala.

Tuccio hails from Ridgefield, Connecticut. So far this season for Siena Tuccio is batting .348 with 4 RBI and a pair of doubles. He has started seven games for the Saints and appeared in 10. He is a career .268 hitter. Tuccio transferred to Siena from Seton Hall his freshman year. Although the senior is listed as an outfielder, he has been playing first base for Siena this spring.

Lowndes is a sophomore outfielder from Poughkeepsie. He has appeared in 13 games for Siena this spring, while starting eight. He is batting .135 with 3 RBI. He finished his freshman year for the Saints on a 12 game hitting streak.

Pitcher Justin Scala is a junior for Siena. Scala is from Sayville, NY. He has made just three appearances so far for the Saints this season. Scala finished his sophomore season in 2015 with an ERA of 2.84.

Brian Uliana joins the Dragons from Rider University. Uliana was the leading hitter for the Broncos in 2015 with a .364 average. Uliana is a junior from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He is a career .306 hitter at Rider with 1 homer and 12 RBI. Uliana is a solid player defensively with a career fielding percentage of .973.

Andrew Kneussle is a pitcher in the MAAC for the Golden Griffins of Canisius. Kneussle is a freshman for the Golden Griffins from Peru, NY. In his first season as Canisius Kneussle has made four appearances. He has started three games as part of the Canisius rotation this season. Kneussle is 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA. He has recorded eight strikeouts and walked just only four in 11 innings.

With these five strong additions from the MAAC, the Glens Falls Dragons will certainly be breathing plenty of fire in the PGCBL this summer.
