Onondaga Flames Sign Oswego Ace Brian Nolan
The Onondaga Flames of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League announced today the signing of southpaw ace Brian Nolan of the SUNY Oswego Lakers for the 2017 summer season.
The right-handed pitcher enjoyed a brilliant freshman season for the Lakers last year as he appeared in 11 games, making 9 starts and finishing with a stellar 6-2 record. His premier performance was a complete game shutout against Wheaton College in the NCAA New England Regional. Nolan scattered 7 hits and fanned nine while walking only two in his clutch performance. Nolan had a season ERA of 2.54 while pitching the second-most innings on the Lakers squad and striking out the second-most batters. Nolan enjoyed similar success at Corcoran High where he won four games while compiling a 1.91 ERA. "Corey has excellent control as evidenced by his 4.5 strikeouts-to-walk ratio.", noted Ryan Stevens, Director of Baseball for the Flames, " He gets almost a strikeout per inning pitched. We're very excited to have him join us." Nolan, now a sophomore, is the son of Brian and Debbie Nolan of Syracuse, NY.
