Flames Sign NYS All-Star Pitcher Ryan Marketell

The Onondaga Flames announced today that Ryan Marketell, a 2016 New York State Sportswriters Association All-Star team selection, will be joining their pitching staff for the 2017 summer season. The 6'5" 200 pound right-hander was also honored by the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle as a member of its 2016 All-Greater Rochester Baseball team.

A Webster Thomas HS team MVP, Ryan struck out 41 batters in 38 innings while posting a 1.66 ERA in his final season with the Titans.The Monroe County all-star also enjoyed a great season at the plate batting .353 with 2 home runs."While we are looking forward to having Ryan's talents on the mound, he cam help us in the infield and at the plate as well. He is a player with special potential." noted Ryan Stevens, Director of Baseball for the Flames.

Marketell will play baseball for the Monroe Community College Tribunes where he plans to major in communications/sports broadcasting. He is the son of Bob and Shelly Marketell of Webster, NY.
