Massa Hurls Seven Shutout Innings, Stallions Beat Dragons 5-0SAUGERTIES, N.Y. - The Saugerties Stallions continued their winning ways on Saturday, July 1 against the Glens Falls Dragons to improve to 13-9 on the season. Starting pitcher Nick Massa (Manhattan) went seven shutout innings and allowed just two hits, as Saugerties beat Glens Falls 5-0. The Stallions power surge came alive in the bottom of the fourth inning when Tyler Kelder (St. Bonaventure) flicked a solo home run over the left field fence to give the Stallions a 1-0 lead. The rest of the Stallions offense added to their lead in the bottom of the seventh by adding four more runs. Luke Petterson (Minnesota) lead off the inning by getting hit by a pitch and eventually scored on a Jack Gonzalez (Stetson) single. After back to back strikeouts by Andrew Taft (Buffalo) and Kelder, the Stallions found themselves with two outs, looking for a rally. Pat Lagravinese (UAlbany) walked to load the bases. Sam Russo (Buler) walked in a run. Jeff Palczewski (Buffalo) had a two-RBI single scoring Gonzalez and Lagravinese. Nick Campana (Hartford) singled to right field to score another run for the Stallions to give them a 5-0 lead. |
