JAMESTOWN, N.Y. - The Jamestown Jammers won a convincing game 12-2 over the Adirondack Trail Blazers on Friday night to improve their PGCBL-best record to 25-5 on the season.
The Trail Blazers took an early lead as John Boswell (Furman) got things started by crushing a 2-run home run over the left field wall to give the Trail Blazers a 2-0 lead, but that would be it for the Trail Blazers offense as they were not able to score after the 1st inning.
In the bottom of the frame the Jammers answered back by scoring a run no hits. The first two hitters of the inning were hit by a pitch, followed by a walk and a sack fly by Collin Stack (UMBC) to cut the lead to 2-1 Trail Blazers.
In the bottom of the 2nd the Jammers took the lead by scoring 2 runs on 3 hits including doubles by Connor Rule (Kansas State) and Chris Estrada (UTSA)
After the first inning, the Jammers starting pitcher Chris Vallimont (Mercyhurst) shut down the Trail Blazers offense by going 6 strong innings allowing 2 runs (2 Earned) on 5 hits and striking out 9.
The score would remain 6-2 Jammers until the bottom of the 8thas the Jammers exploded for 6 runs on 4 hits to blow the game open. Skyler Valentine (UTSA) cleared the bases with a 3 run triple and Connor Rule (Kansas State) also had a triple that scored 2. The big inning put the Jammers up 12-2.
