Dragons Named to PGCBL All-Star and Prospect TeamsGLENS FALLS, N.Y. - Two Glens Falls Dragons players have been named to play in the 2017 PGCBL All-Star game, and three others will play in the Prospects Game. All-Stars were selected by a vote of the league's coaches. The game will be played at Shuttleworth Park in Amsterdam. home of the Amsterdam Mohawks on Tuesday, July 18th. Centerfielder Brian Uliana of Rider University and Anthony Vaglica of LIU-Post will represent Glens Falls in the All-Star game. Uliana is currently 8th in the PGCBL in hitting with an average of .350. He has four doubles, three triples and nine RBI. Vaglica is batting .260 with three home runs, and 18 RBI. Prior to the annual All-Star Game, this year’s festivities will include the first-ever PGCBL Prospect Game, which is designed to showcase players who were not elected to the All-Star Game but are among the best professional prospects on their respective teams. The 2017 PGCBL Prospect game will kick-off the events on Tuesday, July 18, beginning promptly at 12:30 p.m. at Shuttleworth Park. Fort Ann's Tyler Mattison (Bryant) and Connor Romano (Rhode Island) will both pitch in the Prospects Game. Shortstop Phoenix Hernandez (Southern New Hampshire) will also play in the Prospects game. |
