Jammers Earn 4-2 Home Win vs. Flames

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. - The Jamestown Jammers end their 3-game slide by defeating the Onondaga Flames 4-2 and improving to 27-9 on the season.

The Jammers got an outstanding performance from starting pitcher David Lyskawa (NCCC) as he threw 6.1 innings, allowing 1 run (0 Earned) on 5 hits and striking out 11.

Jamestown struck first in the bottom of the 5th as the Jammers scored 2 runs on 2 hits, as Ben Brookover (UTSA) ripped a 2 run double to give the Jammers a 2-0 lead.

The Flames scored in the top of the 7th but the Jammers answered back when Chris Estrada (UTSA) drove home a run to give the Jammers a 3-1 after 7 complete innings.

In the bottom of the 8th the Jammers added an insurance run to make it 4-1 Jammers going to the 9th. The Flames threatened in the top of the 9th as they scored a run and had runners at first and third but the Jammers were able to shut the door an win 4-2 and secure their 27th win of the season.

Notable Players: Alex O’Donnell (Mercyhurst) went 2-2 with 2 runs scored. Ben Brookover (UTSA) 1-4 (double) with 2 RBI’s.
