Adirondack Sweeps Utica With 5-1 Win in Nightcap

UTICA, N.Y. - After the Adirondack Trail Blazers won game one of Saturday's doubleheader by a score of 5-4 in extra innings, they visitors took the second game from the host Utica Blue Sox in easier fashion by a score of 5-1.

The Blazers took an early 5-0 lead by the end of the top half of the fourth inning. The Blue Sox would add one in the bottom half of the fourth to make it a 5-1 ballgame but couldn’t muster any more offense after that.

Jordan Torrento (Adrian) lead the way offensively in game two for the Blazers going 2-3 with two RBI’s and a walk on the night.  Logan Walters (Tennessee Tech) got the win, going two and two-thirds innings allowing no runs and no hits with two strikeouts on top of that line. Riley Moore (Diablo Valley CC) took the loss for Utica allowing five runs on seven hits in four innings pitched.

With the two wins on the day, Adirondack improves to 12-21 on the season.  With the two losses on the day, Utica falls to 11-23.
