Jammers Beat Geneva On O'Donnell Walk-Off DoubleJAMESTOWN, N.Y. - The Jamestown Jammers won a thrilling game on Wednesday night against the Geneva Red Wings, as Alex O’Donnell (Mercyhurst) ripped of a two-run double down the right field line to win the game, 5-4, in the bottom of the 9th. The Jammers improve to 28-11 (1st in West Division) and Geneva Red Wings fall to 23-16 (2nd in West Division).
The Red Wings jumped out to an early lead as they scored 2 runs on 2 hits. Dominic Toso (Bucknell) got things going with a 2-run single in the top of the 3rd. It wouldn’t be tied for long, in the top of the 5th the Red Wings would plate 2 runs on 3 hits to take a 4-2 lead. In the bottom of the 7th the Jammers would climb a little closer by tacking on a run as Collin Stack (UMBC) and Chris Stefl (St. Johns) led the inning off with back to back hits. Stack would later score on a sac fly by Alex O’Donnell (Mercyhurst). 4-3 Red Wings after 7. The Jammers were down to their last 3 outs as Chris Sefl (St. Johns) got the inning started by singling with 1 out followed by a Christ Conley (Canisius) walk. Alex O’Donnell stepped to the plate with 1 out and 2 on and ripped a double that scored 2 to win the game 5-4 over the Geneva Red Wings.
