Jammers Beat Flames for 30th Win of the SeasonJAMESTOWN, N.Y. - The Jamestown Jammers' late-game surge was enough to defeat the Onondaga Flames 6-2 on Sunday afternoon for their 30th victory of the season. Both starting pitchers in this game were outstanding. For the Flames, Zach Kemp (Wells) went 5.0 Innings and allowed 2 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits and 4 strikeouts. The Jammers' starter, Chris Vallimont (Mercyhurst), also had an impressive stat line, as he went 6.0 innings and allowed 1 run (0 earned) on 5 hits and 5 strikeouts. The Flames got on the board in the top of the 3rd by a scoring 1 run on 2 hits, as Kyle Gallagher (Cornell) had an RBI double. The Jammers would answer back in the bottom of the frame, as they would tie the game when Skyler Valentine (UTSA) grounded into a fielder’s choice to score John Conti (Canisius). The Jammers would take the lead the next inning, as Jimmy Standohar (Mercyhurst) would single and later score on an RBI groundout by Conti. With 1 out in the top of the 7th, the Flames Colin BeVard (Cortland) would triple and score as Kyle Gallagher (Cornell) would single him home to tie the game at 2-2. The tie game wouldn’t last as the Jammers would score 3 runs on 2 hits in the bottom of the 7th, including a 2-run single by Standohar. The Jammers would add an insurance run in the bottom of the 8th to make it 6-2 Jammers.
