Solid Pitching Leads Glens Falls Past AlbanyGlens Falls, NY-The Glens Falls Dragons (9-8) snapped a three game losing skid Friday night by defeating the Albany Dutchmen 5-1 at East Field. Glens Falls scored two runs in the second and two more in the third to open up a 4-0 lead. Albany got a run back in the fifth, but the Dragons responded in the sixth to take a 5-1 lead, and Glens Falls would hang on from there. Nick Kondo (UAlbany), Matt Hamel (Siena) and Zach Fritz (LIU-Post) all had two hits for Glens Falls who had eight safeties in the game. Anthony Vaglica (LIU-Post) smacked a double for Glens Falls. Lucas Dunn (Louisville), Cameron Masterman (Louisville) and Ubaldo Lopez Dartmouth) had two hits each for the Dutchmen. Julien Arcos (LIU-Post) took the win on the mound for Glens Falls going five innings, giving up just three hits and one run. Arcos struck out seven and walked four. Kyle Cutler (Johnson and Wales) pitched three innings of scoreless relief for the Dragons, while Christian Allegretti (St. Thomas Aquinas) cleaned up in the ninth. Dylan D'Anna (Siena) took the loss for Albany. Glens Falls is back at home on Sunday when they host the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs at 7:00 pm. |
