PGCBL Announces First Weekly Awards for 2026
NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. – Just over a week into the 2026 Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) season, the league is excited to announce its first Pitcher and Player of the Week awards. These awards take into account all of the stats for games played since the beginning of the season.
East Division
Pitcher of the Week: Asa Dugan, Oneonta (Russell Sage College)
Player of the Week: Joe Crenshaw, Mohawk Valley (University of Richmond)
Dugan, appearing in two games thus far for the Outlaws, has started his season off with one win and one save while posting a 0.96 earned run average over 9.1 innings pitched.
In his first appearance against the Boonville Lumberjacks, the righty went 6.1 innings in relief, allowing just one run on four hits to lead the Outlaws to a 6-4 victory. He notched six strikeouts and did not allow a single walk. In his second appearance on June 5, Dugan came into the game with his team already up, 2-0. He threw the three scoreless innings, bagging three strikeouts while only allowing two hits and one walk to lock down the shutout win.
Crenshaw has started the season off scorching for the DiamondDawgs, who lead the East Division with a 6-2 record. The catcher holds the second-highest batting average in the PGCBL to date at .600, with 12 total hits, including two doubles and three home runs. Additionally, Crenshaw has batted in 11 runs this season, tying for second-most in the league. Currently on a four-game streak of multi-hit games, Crenshaw drove in six runs in a 21-11 win over Saugerties on June 2nd, a game in which he hit a pair of homers.
Among all six games he has played in so far, Crenshaw has an impressive OBP of .667 and a slugging percentage of 1.150. Crenshaw also holds second place in the league in both categories.
West Division
Pitcher of the Week: Larsen Burch, Elmira (Wabash Valley College)
Player of the Week: Teddy Monahan, Auburn (University of Rochester)
In Elmira, Burch has allowed just two hits and not a single run in 7.2 innings. He was dynamite in the second game of a doubleheader at Niagara on Sunday, recording 11 strikeouts and just one walk in a complete game 3-0 win over the Ironbacks.
An outfielder for the Doubledays, Monahan leads the league with a .667 hitting clip and an OBP of .727. He has appeared in three games and has multiple hits in each of them, including one homer and two doubles. He has driven in eight runs, scored twice, and stolen a pair of bases.
Monahan's home run came in Auburn's season-opener versus the Geneva Red Wings to bring the Doubledays' lead to 5-0 in a matchup they never trailed in. Additionally, Monahan's strong plate presence has helped the Doubledays start the season 3-1 and gain their way to a league-high batting average of .378.
