PGCBL Welcomes Niagara Ironbacks in Historic Expansion
ST. CATHERINE, ON. -- The Iron Age of the PGCBL has begun. So has the International Age.
The 2025 season will be a historic one, as for the first time in league history, the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League will venture across the border and welcome a team in Canada. The Niagara Ironbacks will join the Western Division, the league announced in early spring. With the departure of Albany and Watertown, the addition of Niagara will mean that the league will consist of 15 teams for the upcoming season.
"'Ironbacks' is a heartfelt tribute to the hardworking people of St. Catharines and the Niagara Region," says the team's new website. "This region was built and continues to grow because of the relentless hard work and iron-willed determination of its citizens. The community deserves a baseball team name that reflects the rich heritage and strong virtues of the region. Ironbacks Baseball looks forward to celebrating the community's culture of strength, relentless effort and resilience."
In the heart of Ontario's Niagara Region, Canada's first-ever Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) team will battle American-based teams at George Taylor Field beginning in June 2025!
Welcome to the PGCBL Niagara Ironbacks!
