East Division
Pitcher of the Week: Will Howard, Oneonta (Presbyterian College)
Player of the Week: Nick Croce, Saugerties (New Orleans)
Howard appeared in 2 games for the Outlaws this week, compiling a 2.00 ERA and recording 12 strikeouts over 9 innings. On Tuesday, Howard started and threw 4 scoreless innings against the Boonville Lumberjacks, allowing 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 5 in Oneonta's 13-5 win. On Sunday, Howard faced the Lumberjacks again and earned his third win of the season as he pitched 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits with 3 walks and struck out 7 as the Outlaws won 10-2.
Saugerties went 3-1 this past week thanks in large part to the play of Croce. Currently on a 5-game hitting streak, Croce had a .750 batting average this past week with 3 home runs, a triple, 11 RBI and 6 runs scored. On Tuesday, Croce went 3-for-4 with a home run and 2 RBI in an 8-7 loss to Amsterdam. On Wednesday, he went 2-for-3 in a 15-3 win over Glens Falls. Thursday's game was his crowning moment. Croce reached base all 5 times, going 3-for-3 with an RBI single, the go-ahead 3-run triple in the sixth and then a 3-run home run in the ninth for a 7 RBI game in an 11-5 win over Oneonta. Finally on Friday, Croce homered and walked 3 times in a 15-7 win over Glens Falls.
West Division
Pitcher of the Week: Henry Kite, Olean (The College of William & Mary)
Player of the Week: David Harris, Niagara Falls (Clarkson University)
A late addition to the Oilers, Kite has been lights out with a 0.79 ERA in 3 games so far. This past week he pitched on Monday against the Niagara Ironbacks in a 3-0 win for Olean. He went 6 shutout innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 9 batters.
Harris is on an 11-game hitting streak for the Niagara Falls Americans and has a .463 batting average this season. This past week he hit .471 with 2 doubles a triple, 4 RBI and 5 runs scored. Last Monday, Harris went 3-for-5 with an RBI in a 13-12 win over Newark. On Tuesday, he went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI in an 11-4 win over first place Batavia and on Sunday he had a double and a triple in a 7-4 loss to Auburn.
